All substances added to Annex XIV have the following reference dates:
- Latest application date (LAD): 01/11/2023
- Sunset date (SD): 01/05/2025
Please note that the LAD is the date by which you must send applications for authorisation to be able to continue using the substance after the SD, until the publication of the authorisation regulation. If you do not submit the application by LAD, the substance may not be used after SD has expired.
Our advice is to check if you use these substances and consider replacing them with less hazardous alternatives. If it is not possible to replace them, companies shall consider whether to apply within the LAD the authorization for its use.
Finally, we would like to point out that the regulation also mentions other substances that were prioritised for inclusion in Annex XIV, explaining the reasons for their non-inclusion, such as bisphenol A, which has not been included in the authorisation because it is currently being considered a wide-ranging restriction affecting this substance and others belonging to the same family. Therefore, for bisphenol A inclusion in Annex XIV is postponed.
