Meet Alessia, Gaia e Giovanni , our experts for PPPs. The team works in Milan and manages services and research material for this area. Besides general services for plant protection products authorization, the team is focused on Human and Environmental Health Risk Assessment (HERA).

Alessia graduated in Food Science and Technology at “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in Piacenza and got her PhD with a project on the determination of Ochratoxin A in food and feed of animal origin by validated standard methods and by developing a new enzymatic extraction method.

Gaia graduated in Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmaceutical technology at “Università degli Studi di Parma”, where she also got her PhD in Experimental Pharmacology and Toxicology, in collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

Giovanni (head of the HERA team) graduated in Industrial Biotechnology at “Università degli Studi di Pavia”, where he also completed a Postgraduate Specialisation in “Evaluation and management of the risk deriving from environmental pollutants”.

Alessia, Gaia and Giovanni all worked on behalf of the Italian Ministry of Health as evaluators of Draft Registration Report (dRR) of Pesticides (PPPs), acquiring a broad experience in the field of national and zonal applications. The focus of the team includes, but is not limited to , risk assessment.
