Detergents

The Detergents Regulation (EC) no. 648/2004 came into force on October 8, 2005, with the main aim of providing the technical criteria to unify the legislations of the various Member States concerning the marketing of detergents and surfactants for detergents.

Similarly to other regulations, such as REACH, the one concerning detergents also seeks to assure high protection of the environment, especially aquatic, and of human health.

Therefore, anyone placing detergents on the market must adhere to special labelling provisions (net of the labelling set forth by (EC) Reg 1272/2008 – CLP) to include information on dosage during use and the content of certain ingredients, and must prepare an ingredients sheet and publish it on the website so as to be accessible to consumers.
