Detergents

On 8 October 2005, the Detergent Regulation (EC) 648/2004 came into force, with the main objective of providing the technical criteria for unifying the legislation of the different Member States concerning the marketing of detergents and surfactants for detergents. Similar to other regulations, such as REACH, the detergent regulation is also meant to ensure high-level protection of the environment, in particular water and human health.

Therefore, all those making detergents available on the market must comply with special labelling provisions (not including labelling set forth under Reg. (EC) 1272/2008 -CLP), which include information on dosage during use and the content of certain ingredients.

Furthermore, they must prepare an ingredient datasheet and publish it on the website in such a way as to be accessible to consumers.
